Generally, Vata's should eat larger quantities without overeating. All sweeteners pacify Vata...Heavy sweet fruits, like bananas, avocados, apricots, plums, oranges, grapefruit. Cooked veggies (limit raw veggies), favoring asparagas, beets & carrots. Most all spices are good for Vatas...cardamom, cumin, cinnamon, salt, cilantro, basil, black pepper to name a few.
Vata Balance Exercise:
Light exercise that enhance balance and flexibility is best for a Vata body type.
Yoga practice should be slow paced and meditative. Holding asanas longer to create heat. Eyes focused downward for grounding.
Pitta's are sharp witted, direct, decision makers and tend to have a medium build.

Generally, Pitta's should eat cooling foods. Stay away from fermented dairy (yogurt, sour cream, cheese). Sweet fruits like melons, grapes, cherries, coconut, avocado, mangos, ripe pineapples and oranges pacify Pitta, but limit sour fruits like apricots and berries. Green leafy veggies are good for Pitta's as are cucumbers, sweet potatoes, green beans, cauliflower, and zucchini...but limit, tomatoes, hot peppers, carrots, beets, garlic, and onions.
Pitta Balance Exercise:
Regularly spend time in nature. Walks in the woods and around natural bodies of water.
Yoga practice should be moderate paced. Hold asanas less time (holding the asana creates heat). Open poses that release heat are best for Pitta.
Kapa's tend to have a robust, voluptuous body, they are calm, thoughtful and loving.

Generally, Kapha's should eat warm foods with pungent, bitter, and astringent tastes. Stay away from heating spices like cinnamon, cumin, and ginger (NO SALT). Reduce dairy, but enjoy fruits like apples, pomegranates, cranberries, and apricots. Reduce heavy fruits like bananas, avocados, pineapples, oranges, peaches, coconuts and dates. All veggies are great for Kapha's, but reduce sweet & juicy veggies like sweet potatoes, tomatoes, and zucchini.
Kapha Balance Exercise:
Get regular exercise – preferably every day. This is the best way to avoid stagnation and the accumulation of toxins in the body. Focus on building endurance.
Yoga practice should be faster paced with continuous movement, eyes focussed upward.
